Thank you to all of our athletes who competed in our 2023/24 regular season. We will commence our 2024 Cross Country season on Sunday 28 April 2024 with the first run of our 8 week season!! You are welcome to join mid-season even if you cannot make the first or any subsequent Sunday afternoons! The final meet will be 23 June 2024 and involve a reverse handicap which is always lots of fun! There are NO COSTS for athletes registered for the season with either NDLAC, another LA centre, or a senior athletics club. Yes, this is included in your child’s NDLAC season registration so no additional cost!
New members are also welcome with a $40 Cross Country registration fee applicable, but this will be reimbursed if they sign-up for our 2024-25 NDLAC Summer season. If you have a friend newly signing up, please ensure they bring along proof of age to the first meet they attend.
Approximate distances: 500m (U6 and younger*), 1000m (U7-8s), 1500m (U9-10s), 2000m (U11-12s), 3000m (U13+ & open). Athletes remain in the same age groups as the just completed summer season. While winter season awards will be based on athletes’ achievements in the designated distance for their age group, athletes may choose to compete in other distances and/or more than once per week to complement their training program for the schools’ representative XC season.
*Note that the 500m race is reserved exclusively for U6s & Tiny Tots and these athletes may not compete in other distances.
As always, WE NEED SOME ASSISTANCE FROM PARENTS each week to help set up, act as course marshals, process the finishers and pack up equipment afterwards and timekeepers. Thank you in advance!!
Registered U7-17s are also eligible to enter the LANSW XC Championships.
Uniforms may be worn but are not compulsory for this series. However, the complete NDLAC uniform together with registration number, age patch, and Coles logo must be worn at the LANSW XC Championships.
Parking within the grounds may be difficult if there are soccer matches still in progress. However, it would be appreciated if families would NOT park on the western side of Lancelot Street where Course C is set. Please park on the eastern side or on Foxglove Road.
Cancellations for any reason will be notified via Team App and Facebook page.
Families are requested to arrive a little earlier (by 3.30pm) in the first week to finalise their registrations and payments (if applicable) and to “Walk the Course”. Athletes should arrive by 345pm thereafter.
